What is different?

As many of you know we just wrapped up the JoMoPro here at Autumn and once again we had BMX riders and fans from all over the world here in our facility and once again riders were pushing themselves and BMX farther into the future with crazy tricks that were not even fathomable when I first started riding 20 some years ago. But you know I don't think the tricks pulled or attempted are what people will take away from this past weekend, the comment I heard the most through the weekend from riders, fans, TV producers, judges, etc. was "the people who work here are so nice" or "this contest feels different from any other contest I have been to". Over and over I heard people commenting on the fact that there was something different about Autumn and JoMoPro and they are right. Although there are so many things that I look back on and wish would have been better or different the one thing I would never change is the fact that some people experienced something new, something refreshing, something that made them ask "what is different about these people?" Well, let me tell you what is different, it is not because I worked hard to make this event awesome, it is not because the people that surround me are awesome (they are, but that's not the point) the reason things felt a little different is because for weeks before the event the staff here took an hour each day to pray that God would move in the hearts of people at JoMoPro. We prayed specifically for each rider that was pre registered, we prayed for the fans that would show up, we prayed for the Sunday morning worship service, we just prayed that God would give us the opportunity to show others the a small peice of the amazing love he has shown us. And you know what? God answered and He was there in that building all weekend. If you felt something different when you walked into JoMoPro you felt the prescence of God the Creator of the universe, the God that wants you to know Him the way He knows you, the God that 2000 years ago sent His son to die your place just so that you would be able to come to Him. There is a God that loves you very much and honestly the only reason I spend a year planning JoMoPro is so that you may experience the God that I know is chasing after you. JoMoPro will never be about the greatest tricks it will always be about showing a group of people that I love (BMX riders) that God loves them and that Jesus died for them. God wants you and some of you felt that this weekend, I know because you told me so don't keep running from Him run to Him His arms are wide open waiting for you.
