JoMoPro 2007 Overveiw
If you ever wanted a chance to compete against some of the best riders out there without the pressure of TV cameras in your face or the high-stress atmosphere of a huge production-type contest, JoMoPro is your answer. All you have to do is sign up—no pre-qualifications necessary, and no special invites. The Autumn Ramp Park in Joplin, Missouri is the only place out there that hosts a contest that offers $20,000 in prize money but keeps a laid-back, hometown feel to the event. And we assure you, The Bridge will treat you like gold even if you've never entered a contest before in your life. Whether you are entering as a novice or competing in the Pro class, there will be free food and drinks along with a sports masseuse on site to get you fully prepared for your runs. And when your session is finished, you can make your way over to the arcade or rock climbing wall to get in some chill time off your bike.
Last year RideBMX was fortunate enough to be in Joplin to experience JoMoPro firsthand. We were blown away at how great of an event Autumn had going in the middle of Missouri. From the amazing park design and huge Pro purse, to the Southern hospitality and relaxed atmosphere, JoMoPro was an all around top-notch event. X Games athletes Steve McCann and Zack Warden made the journey to Joplin and threw down their biggest moves with local riders from all around the country. Steve McCann went home with a brand new Yamaha TTZ 240 motocross bike after winning the Best Trick contest with a no-handed 720-to-turndown. Then Zack Warden walked away with a cool $7,000 for his first place finish in Pro finals after annihilating the course, pulling tons of tailwhip and 360 variations, barspins, and a bikeflip.
If you've never heard of Joplin, Missouri, you have now and we suggest you make it a point to get there next April. Whether it is to compete for the $20,000 yourself or simply sit back and watch amazing riding, you are guaranteed to have a great time. We look forward to seeing you there!
