JoMoPro is an annual BMX contest hosted each April by Autumn Ramp Park in Joplin, MO. RideBMX has called Autumn "one of the most progressive parks open today". The first JoMoPro took place April 7-9, 2006 as part of the Grand Opening Festivities for Autumn Ramp Park, The Bridge and The Foundry. JoMoPro '06 featured both Skate and BMX classes and we offered a $20,000 prize purse to be split between Skate and BMX. We also gave away 2 motorcycles, one to the winner of Best Trick Skate and one to the winner of Best Trick BMX. For a first year contest JoMoPro '06 was a successful event with over 100 competitors. In 2007 we decided to focus solely on BMX. JoMoPro '07 took place April 13-15, 2007. We featured Intermediate, Expert and Pro classes and offered a $20,000 prize purse, tons of product prizes and a motorcyle to the winner of the Best Trick competiton. For 2007 RideBMX magazine made the trip to Joplin, MO to cover the entire event. To see all of the RideBMX coverage click here. In addition to day by day coverage by RideBMX, JoMoPro '07 received media attention from FuelTV, Vital BMX, local and regional TV and newspapers. For JoMoPro '07 we had 105 entries with guys like Zack Warden, Steve McCann, Craig Mast, Tony Cardona, Karl Poynter and Mark Mulville making their way to Joplin, MO to compete for their part of the $20,000 in prize money. JoMoPro 2008 took place April 11-13. Once again we offered Intermediate, Expert and Pro classes, we also held the RideBMX Best Trick contest with prizes provided by Harley Davidson. For 2008 we increased the Pro Prize Money to $25,000 to be split between the top 15 Pro riders. The turnout was amazing for the 2008 event with riders from all over the world in attendance it was by far the best JoMoPro to date. RideBMX and FuelTV were on hand to document what many called "one of the most memorable contests in BMX history." The list of Pro riders on hand rivaled that of Dew Tour and X-Games anf the tricks that went down were amazing. JoMoPro 2009 took place April 3-5. We offered Intermediate, Expert and Pro classes again this year in Park. We will also held the RideBMX Best Trick contest were we gave away a Harley. New in 2009 was the addition of Flatland BMX events. For Flatland we offered Intermediate, Expert and Pro classes and saw a pretty solid turnout. RideBMX did an amazing job of covering the event and you can still find that content on their site www.ridebmx.com. FuelTV was also on site with a full production crew that documented the event. FuelTV created a 30 min. feature episode about JoMoPro 2009 that aired on their network and was really well done. Once again JoMoPro 2009 was an amazing weekend of BMX. Thanks You to all the sponsors, riders and fans that made the event a success. We can't wait until 2010.... |
